GMP LOCAL 291 OFFICER NOMINATION AND ELECTION INFORMATION:

As per the GMP Constitution of the International, this is to notify all memebers of local 291 that nomination for officer position will be made at the August 25, 2009 General Memebership meeting. Terms of office shall be for three (3) years. The meeting will take place on August 25, 2009 at Union Hall. The meeting will begin 7:00 p.m. all day until 4:30 p.m.

Nomination will be held for the following Officer position: President, Vice-president (Automotive), Vice-president (Stainless), Recording Secretary, Financial Secretary-treasurer.

Nomination can only be made by a memeber of the Union Local 291 in good standing who is present at the August Membership Meeting. Any memeber may nominate him/herself or a fellow member.

To be eligible to be a cadndidate for position, a person must be a memeber of the Union for one year prior to the election and shall have attended a least 50% of the regular Local Union meeting for a period of one year preceding the nomination meeting.

UPCOMING MEMBERSHIP MEETING AND ELECTION DATES:

August 25, 2009: Nominations.

September 22, 2009: Mandatory meeting for members who are nominated for all Officer Position.

October 27, 2009: Election Day, counting of votes and announcement of the results at the General membership meeting.

November 24, 2009: Installation of Officers.
